About Us

The Mac Club

Ultimate Frisbee has been a long standing competitive sports clubs at Macquarie University for over a decade. It is has a rich history of and varied history of playing Ultimate, both in university tournaments such as the Eastern University Games and the Australian University Games as well as competing in local leagues and tournaments. Currently our club has approximately 50 active members and we are always looking for new players.

The Ultimate Game

Ultimate frisbee combines the best parts of soccer, American football, basketball and netball to produce a sport which is simple yet demanding.

The basic aim is for the team with the frisbee to pass the disc up the field to others on their team and catch it in the endzone to score points. At the same time the defensive team is trying to intercept it or knock it down. If they succeed, they get possession of the flying disc and try to score in the other endzone.

Our club caters for beginners and experienced players. To compete at top levels players require speed, stamina and agility. Yet the simplicity of Ultimate makes it fun and easy to pick up for anyone. As a club we send teams to both Eastern Uni Games and Australia Uni Games every year and have won gold medals at both Games over the years. We also attempt to send teams to all competitions and tournaments both around Sydney and beyond.

"Mac Ultimate feels like a social sport that

we play competitively and win."
