AUGs Mac Ultimate Team set off to the Gold Coast

   

 

The Macquarie University Ultimate Team begin their journey down to the Australian University Games based on the Gold Coast this year. They will battle teams from across Australia with the strong hope of returning with gold. The team will be staying in the luxurious Mantra Sun City Hotel which has stunning views of the beautiful golden coast.

The AUGs 2013 team consisted of 7 females (Kathryn Glover, Katrina Leung, Michelle Fox, Philippa Fong, Samantha Hariman, Sarah Hassan, Stephanie Hawkins) and 11 males (Anson Chun, Felix Nguyen, Iain Watt, Jimmy Tod-Hill, Jonathon Shannon, Lindsay Hassock, Nicolas Ammann, Nathan Linforth, Nathan Wong, Oliver Dousett, Thomas Tulett).

MQ Ultimate invited the Uni NSW Ultimate team up to the Macquarie sports fields for a friendly game to train for the up coming Australian Uni Games on the Gold Coast. There were a lot of excellent throws and defenses from both teams. However, after a strategy packed game MQ Ultimate won the match.

Members of Mac Ultimate were split up into teams for the night and given a set of challenges to complete and objects to collect. For example, one of the challenges was to take a photo of a human pyramid with the aim of being the biggest one out of all the teams. Another challenge was to find and collect the most impressive business card.

All teams were given a limited amount of time to work within. At 11pm every one had to meet at Jacksons on George to report back and tally points to crown the ultimate scavenger hunt team winners!
